Problem: Mail Bounces with below message along with 5.1.3
Client: Unable to Send E-Mail to Large Group (2000 recipients)
KB: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/832429
CAUSE
This problem occurs when your personal distribution list contains an invalid e-mail address that either contains one or more spaces after the at sign (@) or contains no domain name after the at sign (@). If an e-mail address in the personal distribution list contains spaces or no domain name after the at sign, the e-mail address causes the Microsoft Exchange 2000 Server transport to generate an NDR that includes all the recipients, including valid recipients of the e-mail message
Recommendation:
The NDR you are getting is being caused by putting Extra space into outlook as it is explained in the Microsoft KB article
When these address being copied and paste into outlook, even though you are not seeing it, outlook seems to be putting space between e-mail address therefore mail is bouncing with 5.1.3.
Exchange is fully compliant with Standard RFC SMTP, meaning you cannot have space between mail addresses, or before and after the @ part
I recommend you breaking the list into smaller groups, so that the space can be eliminated, and try to send the mail again
Let me know if there is anything not clear.
Lastly. If you break this into smaller groups and try to send the mail. I am sure it will go trough
Also try this
Within outlook by going Tools Options E-mail options Advance E-mail Options Allow Comma as address separator make sure it is selected
Make sure Microsoft office is selected as word editor
The format of the e-mail address is incorrect. Check the address, look up the recipient in the Address Book, or contact the recipient directly to find out the correct address.
